Some claim this is the one - what say the grizzled, wizened forum experts? All I know, it's cleansing my aural palate from last night's adventure:

2/5/70? Far from it.
The best is 12/29/69. Others here will tell you it's 12/28/69. But both, I think will take you farther than the 2/5/70 version.

I don't seem to have 12-29 on this machine but 12-28-69 does stand pretty tall. I just listened to 12-31 as well, good but not 12-28. Looking forward to hearing 12-29 to compare.

Just listened to 12-29 and it is a close call with 12-28 though I like 12-28 more; though possibly only because I love that show and have heard it some many times.

btw: I have heard it is obama's favorite song...:-)

was at the stream, but the connection is so tenuous that I chose to go this route.

the best mason's, imho, is 2/14/70. they are really hot when they get into it. Dancin**, China Cat**> I Know You Rider**> High Time**, Dire Wolf**, Alligator**> Drums**> Me & My Uncle**> NFA**> Mason's Children**> Caution**> Feedback**> We Bid You Goodnight** smokin jam that precedes it, and then you get the fiery revved up mason's .

i wish they would make a boxed set of those two fillmore shows. we got the shortened, highlight reel, and dick did a great job on that release, but i'd like to have all the acoustic and electric sets from those legendary shows.

thanks. listened to the duane/gregg/peter green sit in last night from same period on an old cassette on a walkman while walking the dog (had to get away from the iclips scenario). i'm a semi-luddite.

BOY ... that is not my favorite song... such a weird kind of THROWBACK kind of tune for the dead kind of harkening back to pre-68 pop sensibility... and while other WORKINGMAN'S DEAD ERA "Group Vocals" all kind of wacky and, ehem, slightly out of tune, are really quite appealing in their folkiness.... i find Mason's a bit trying....... but alas, i am a deadhead and there sure is AMPLE SPACE FOR JERRY'S GUITAR in the jam section.....

SOOOOOOOOOO: [...]Give me some PCM, 1/24/1970
